This website is a gateway to seeing photographs and stories which the community of Dre-fach Felindre have shared.

To view the photographs or stories, click on one of the categories below.

When you click on a category and arrive at the People’s Collection Wales website it will open in the relevant section such as “Landscape Views” where you can browse the photos or read the story. You can remain on the People’s Collection Wales website and search the site using their search engine. Or, return to the Stori Fawr website, and click on one of the other categories.

If you have any photos or stories to add to the Stori Fawr collection or you have any comments and suggestions or if you want to take part (there is still lots to do) - fill in the form and let us know.

Saturday June 29th 11am - 4pm
At the Welsh Wool Museum, Dre-fach Felindre

  • Display Stori Fawr website on the screen
  • An exhibition of books about the area and by local authors
  • A collection of local history files and photos and other resources
  • Display boards, pictures and information about Griffith Jones

11am Official Opening by the Chairman of Carmarthenshire County Council and items from Penboyr School Children. Presentation of the competition prizes.
11.30am Crafts for the Children - Spinning and Weaving
12.00 Presentation in English by Peter Stopp about Griffith Jones, Llanddowror.
1.30pm Talk in Welsh by Eifion Davies on 'Towy Cole Jones Collection'.
2.30pm Talk in Welsh by Peter Hughes Griffiths on 'The Influence of the Lewis Family on the Wool Industry and on the area'.
